In 1998, Sarah joined Responsible Solutions Limited (RSL), a computer security consulting firm, as President and grew RSL to reach annual revenues of $11 million and 35 employees. Procinct Security was incorporated in 2002. Many of these employees, as well as some external security consultants, Sarah has retained to continue on with her second venture in an executive role. With the July, 2002 launch of ProSentry 2.0, an on-line subscription based Internet security monitoring and management service, Sarah is building her second successful firm. As CEO and Chief Security Technology Advisor, Sarah is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategy and business planning of the company. Sarah holds an active sensitive government security clearance. Sarah joined Procinct Security with an already distinguished software development career, during which she earned a reputation for completing complex projects that involved working with very small teams on tight timelines. Her commercial software development contributions have won industry awards for their quality and ease of use, and her work has been consistently singled out for praise and special awards at each of her previous firms. Sarah is also an accomplished public speaker. Sarah's expertise is in Internet, intranet, and e-commerce solutions; security policy development; Digital Cryptography, PKI planning and deployment; secure Internet delivery of active content; and market analysis of emerging technologies and products. Before joining Procinct, Sarah led the client agent development team at Narrative Communications Corporation (now Enliven), where she developed Java, ActiveX, NT and Solaris-based Internet technologies for that company's interactive streaming media applications. Her previous work included advising cc:Mail, IBM, and Lotus (now all merged into IBM) on public key encryption support in their e-mail and groupware products, and personally implementing encryption and security functionality in portions of their products. Sarah studied computer science at Harvard University. Among her many security related achievements, Sarah planned, created, and launched the first Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) at a large federal government agency. She represented this agency's CIRT at the Forum of Incident Response Security Teams and at technical interchanges with NAVCIRT, the US Navy CIRT. She defined the team, established personnel and equipment requirements, trained the initial team members, and created the CIRT's initial project plan, policies, and procedures. In addition, she led the team that designed and implemented the technology infrastructure for CIRT operations. During the past 6 years Sarah has lead numerous security projects with significant business impact for the clients. Leveraging her position as a respected and nationally known security expert she advises and architects solutions for multi-million dollar government contracts as well as Fortune 500 companies and startups. |
